Botox is a widely used method in the treatment of fine wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, on the neck lines and on the sides of the nose, and on the upper lip. However, it is also applied on the palms, soles and armpits where excessive sweating can occur. Botox temporarily stops the electrical transmission between the nerves and the muscles stimulating these nerves by preventing the release of substances that provide conduction in the nerve endings. Thus, the restricted muscles relax and the wrinkles caused by these muscles disappear.
